2027 Presidency: Abaribe Predicts Tinubu’s Defeat, Says Nigerians Are “More Ready Than Ever”

Abia South Senator, Enyinnaya Abaribe, has expressed strong confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be defeated in the 2027 presidential election, citing growing public dissatisfaction across the country.

The senator made the remarks on Monday while appearing on Politics Today, a flagship political programme aired on Channels Television. PulseNets learnt that Abaribe spoke candidly about the political mood among Nigerians and the likelihood of a repeat victory for the ruling party.

According to Abaribe, electoral outcomes are never permanent, stressing that political power ultimately rests with the people. “Every leader can lose an election, and I am certain Tinubu will lose the 2027 election because I understand what Nigerians are truly feeling beyond the corridors of power,” he said.

The lawmaker further revisited the controversies surrounding the 2023 presidential poll, maintaining that the outcome did not reflect the will of the electorate. “Tinubu did not win the 2023 election; everyone knows that. He was declared the winner, and that is fine. We acknowledge him as president, no problem,” Abaribe stated.

He, however, insisted that the next election cycle would present a different scenario entirely. “We will meet him directly on the field, and we will see how he intends to assemble what will make him win again. It will not work,” he declared.

Speaking further, Abaribe warned that Nigerians would no longer tolerate electoral surprises or last-minute declarations. “This time around, everyone will be prepared. It will not be a situation where results are announced at 3 a.m. and by morning a winner has emerged. That era is over,” he said.

The senator added that public consciousness and political vigilance have significantly increased nationwide. “We are ready, and more importantly, the masses are even more ready,” Abaribe told PulseNets, underscoring what he described as a renewed determination among voters ahead of 2027.
