2Baba Names Burna Boy Nigeria’s Top Afrobeat Artiste on the Global Stage

Veteran Nigerian music icon, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has identified Burna Boy as the leading Afrobeat artiste on the global stage, PulseNets learnt.

The music legend made the assessment amid the ongoing debate surrounding Nigeria’s much-discussed “Top 3” artistes ranking within the local and international music space.

PulseNets reports that the “Big 3” label is widely used to describe Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Davido—three Nigerian superstars regarded as the country’s most influential and successful global music exports.

However, speaking during his recent appearance on Mic On Podcast hosted by Seun Okinbaloye, 2Baba offered a clear personal verdict, stressing that Burna Boy currently stands above his peers internationally.

“I have favourite songs from the three. But I think Burna is on a different level right now. In terms of music influence and global reach, Burna is currently at the top across the world. That said, everyone is doing fantastically well.”
