Strike: No going back on protest – NANS dares Kaduna govt

ASUU strike: Buhari govt killed education, we’ll bury it – NANS

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has been on a protracted strike, and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Kaduna, has called on students at the different schools to gather on September 21, 2022, for the complete closure of the Kaduna-Abuja expressway.

Comrade Dominic Philip, the task force chairman for the students, stated in a statement on Wednesday that the demonstration would start from the Kaduna expressway and terminate at Gonin Gora beside Federal Cooperative College, Kaduna.

He then extended an invitation to all of the National Excos, Zonal Excos in Kaduna, JCC Executives, SUG/SRC Executives, parents, and decent citizens.

Although Kaduna is a weak State, the Kaduna State Government issued a warning on Tuesday night about the dangers of such a protest.

In a statement, Samuel Aruwan, the state commissioner for internal security and home affairs, said that the planned action by any group or person was unacceptable.

Citizens are respectfully reminded that the first and foremost concern should always be collective security, he continued.

In order to ensure rigorous compliance, individuals, unions, and other groups are recommended to take note of this advisory.

But on Tuesday night, the student leadership assured the PulseNets that nothing would prevent the students from organizing for the protest.
