2023: ‘Tinubu knows my party’ – Sanusi

Emir Sanusi finally break silence over detained minors

Ahead of the upcoming general elections in 2023, the former Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has revealed which party is his exclusive affiliation.

Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress, APC, is aware that he is a member of the Nigerian party, according to Sanusi.

He said as much while adding that he doesn’t belong to any political party.

During the seventh edition of KadInvest, an annual event organised by the Kaduna State Investment Promotion Agency, Sanusi addressed Tinubu and other guests in Kaduna yesterday.

The former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, also bemoaned the theft of crude oil, Nigeria’s expanding debt profile, the uneven subsidy payment, and the surging foreign exchange rates, among other monetary and economic issues Nigeria is currently facing.

He sought accountability at the highest levels and openness in the management of the nation’s resources, arguing that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited should be handled independently rather than as a cash cow.

Sanusi further exhorted States to stop depending too heavily on the Federal Government.

“I keep repeating, hope you remember that I lost my job at the Central Bank for this same problem.

“It is not about a particular party. I have no party. My party is Nigeria. This is the problem we had in 2014. Asiwaju (Tinubu) knows my party is Nigeria,” he said.
