The tribunal is under extreme pressure in the Adeleke vs Oyetola case — Gov Sanwo-Olu

WAEC Fails To Tender Governor Sanwo-Olu’s Certificate Before Tribunal

The Osun Election Petitions Tribunal, according to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has been under intense pressure.

Sanwo-Olu made this statement while congratulating Gboyega Oyetola, the outgoing governor of Osun State, on his win at the election petitions tribunal on Friday.

Recall that the Tribunal had ousted Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governor Adeleke and pronounced Oyetola, the APC’s candidate for governor in the Osun election scheduled for July 16, 2022, the victor.

In a 2-1 decision, the Tribunal maintained that Oyetola had received the legitimate majority of votes—314,931 to Adeleke’s 290,266—in the election.

Reacting, Sanwo-Olu, while speaking to journalists at the Lagos House, Ikeja, on Friday, said, “I think the Tribunal has taken its time and you can see the outcome.

“I imagine they must have been under tremendous pressure, but I’m sure at the end of the day, they took the right outcome.

“My congratulations go to the APC family in Osun. The judiciary has shown that it was delayed but not denied, so I want to congratulate my brother, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.”
