Olumba Olumba takes evangelism to Ekiti

The Brotherhood of the Cross and Stars, founded by Olumba Olumba Obu, arrived in Ekiti State on Thursday on a three-day evangelical mission.

Archbishop David Irefin, the church’s international chairman and leader of the team, said they were in the state on an evangelical mission to preach and spread the gospel of Olumba.

Addressing journalists on Thursday at the Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ado-Ekiti, Irefin clarified the misconception about the brotherhood, which he said means oneness, explaining that it was the reason the Olumba couldn’t belong to any religious association.

In his words: “The International Missionary Crusaders Fellowship of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star converged on Ekiti State for a week-long evangelical outreach that would attract members from the 12 formations that made up the nation.”

Irefin, a university don, stated that the three-day evangelism, which started on Thursday, will end on Sunday morning, adding that the team will be visiting some villages and towns, including institutions in the state, for house-to-house evangelism.

Parts of their schedule also include courtesy visits to dignitaries, traditional rulers, and educational institutions, among others.

“Other activities include humanitarian services, fasting, prayers, and evangelical outreach, among others,” he stated.
