Tinubu Tears Buhari’s Cashless Policy Apart

Amnesty International declares Tinubu's economy

President Bola Tinubu has lambasted the cashless policy of his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari.

According to Tinubu, the cashless policy implemented by the former president’s administration only led to the confiscation of money in the possession of most Nigerians.

The president made the comment while speaking at the palace of the Awujale of Ijebu land, Ọba Sikiru Kayọde Adetọna, on Thursday.

He said: “Our monies were confiscated. The cashless policy didn’t work; it was terrible then. I realised that and I came to Ogun state to invoke the spirit of freedom which we are noted for.”

Tinubu declared the cashless policy implemented by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) ineffective.
