Bayelsa lawmaker picked up by Security Operatives not unknown gunmen — sources reveal

Following the alleged abduction of Chief Edward Irigha-Brigidi, the member representing Nembe Constituency 2 in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), PulseNets made some factual findings and confirmed the lawmaker was picked up by security outfit SWAT rather than the earlier reports of unknown gunmen.

According to reports, the Bayelsa lawmaker is said to have been abducted in Azikoro town, a suburb of Yenagoa, the state capital, by gunmen.

However, a source close to the lawmaker in a chat with PulseNets revealed that the lawmaker was “whisked away by SWAT operatives from Abuja. He is currently at the State CID.

“They were conducting a search and aiming to apprehend him based on a petition filed against him by certain desperate politicians,” the source alleges.

The source also claims that “it is the Bayelsa State governor who intervenes last night, if not they would have taken him to Abuja this morning via Port Harcourt International Airport.”
