Oyo govt orders immediate past political appointees to return official vehicles

The Oyo State Government has directed all political appointees in the first tenure of Governor Seyi Makinde to return all official vehicles allocated to them without wasting more time.

The state government advised the former appointees to return the vehicles on or before Friday, 25th August 2023.

The state government gave the directive to the ex-aides on Friday in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Olanike Adeyemo.

The statement said that the governor, the deputy governor, the Speaker and members of the House of Assembly, the Chief Judge of the State, Judges, and the Secretary to the State Government are exempted from the directive.

Others are the Chief of Staff, the Head of Service, Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries, Accountant-General, Auditors-General and Surveyor-General.

The statement added that those gifted vehicles at the governor’s discretion are also exempted.

It explains further that officials with documentary evidence to substantiate the claim of having been gifted official vehicles should present the evidence to schedule officers at their ministries, departments and agencies.
