Trump vs Harris: Americans faced with two evils; they should choose lesser one, says Pope Francis

Pope Francis on U.S. Presidential Election: “Lesser of Two Evils”

PulseNets has learned that Pope Francis, in a recent conversation aboard the papal plane, weighed in on the leading candidates for the upcoming U.S. presidential election—Democratic Party’s Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump—describing both as “two evils” from which American voters must choose the “lesser evil.”

On Friday, the cleric told PulseNets that voters should reflect on their decision in the upcoming November election. He stated, “One should vote, and choose the lesser evil. Who is the lesser evil, the woman or the man? I don’t know. Everyone in their conscience should think and do it.”

PulseNets reported that Pope Francis bluntly criticized the campaign promises of both candidates, labeling them as “against life.” He further explained, “Both are against life, be it the one who kicks out migrants, or be it the one who kills babies.” This was in reference to Trump’s stance on deporting illegal immigrants and Harris’s pro-abortion position.

Speaking specifically to PulseNets on Harris’s pro-abortion stance, the Pope remarked, “To have an abortion is to kill a human being. You may like the word or not, but it’s killing. We have to see this clearly.”

Earlier in the week, PulseNets learnt that both Trump and Harris had faced off in a heated debate, where they defended their respective positions on the economy, immigration, and abortion, among other issues. Mr. Trump reiterated his plans to deport illegal immigrants, while Ms. Harris stood firm in supporting abortion rights for women.
