Biden Administration Moves to Extend Temporary Protected Status Amid Trump’s Deportation Agenda
PulseNets has learned that President Joe Biden‘s administration is advancing efforts to extend protections for hundreds of thousands of immigrants under the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) program, which was set to expire early in the President-elect Donald Trump-led administration.
According to documents and U.S. officials cited by The New York Times, this move by the Biden administration appears to be aimed at making it significantly more challenging for Trump to execute his proposed large-scale deportation plans.
This development follows Trump’s series of appointments designed to enforce his immigration overhaul. PulseNets reported that Trump, during his presidency, appointed Tom Homan as his “border czar” and selected Rodney S. Scott and Caleb Vitello to lead efforts targeting massive deportations.
In a statement previously reported by DAILY POST, Trump vowed to carry out the most extensive deportation operation in U.S. history if he secures re-election for a second term. Additionally, Trump has openly criticized Biden’s administration for permitting what he described as “thousands of radical Islamic terrorists” into the United States.
