CAC removes 247 companies from database [Full List]

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has issued a strong disclaimer concerning the alleged incorporation of 247 listed companies in Nigeria.

In a notice posted on its official X handle on Friday, the Commission reported that it had removed the affected companies from its corporate database. According to agency, these entities had not been duly registered as limited liability companies, contrary to claims circulating online.

The Commission told PulseNets that the Registered Certificate and AC numbers purportedly linked to the companies “have not been assigned to anyone” and therefore hold no legal validity.

“Members of the public are hereby advised to disregard any claims regarding the existence of these companies as legal persons,” the notice read.

The development, PulseNets reports, underscores CAC’s renewed clampdown on fraudulent company registrations and its ongoing efforts to maintain the integrity of Nigeria’s corporate registry.
