Jubilations as Gas Turbine Equipments Arrive Bayelsa
Yenagoa — There was excitement in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, on Wednesday as residents witnessed trucks transporting heavy equipment for the installation of a new gas turbine.
The project is part of Governor Douye Diri’s pledge to deliver 24-hour electricity supply to Bayelsans before the end of the year.
Although the Governor is currently in New York attending the 2025 United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), stakeholders back home have hailed his developmental strides and praised his commitment to improving the living standards of his people.
The gas turbine, seen as a game-changer for the state’s energy sector, is expected to be installed in the coming weeks, with commissioning planned before the December deadline earlier set by the Governor.
