Fubara Pledges Collaboration with Rivers Assembly as APC Wins Ahoada East, Khana Bye-Elections

The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has declared his willingness to collaborate with members of the Rivers State House of Assembly in advancing the collective interests of residents across the state.

The governor made the position known while congratulating Ukalikpe Napoleon and Loolo Bulabari Henrietta, who emerged victorious in the recently concluded bye-elections conducted in two state constituencies.

PulseNets learnt that the bye-elections were held on Saturday, February 21, by the Independent National Electoral Commission in Ahoada East State Constituency II and Khana State Constituency II.

Both candidates contested on the platform of the All Progressives Congress. Napoleon secured victory in Ahoada East State Constituency II, while Henrietta clinched the Khana State Constituency II seat, according to results obtained by PulseNets.

Congratulating the lawmakers-elect, Fubara described their emergence as a clear indication of the confidence reposed in them by the electorate. He emphasised the necessity of filling the previously vacant seats in the Rivers State House of Assembly to ensure effective legislative representation and governance.

The governor further noted that their victories were well earned and urged the newly elected lawmakers to justify the trust placed in them by delivering responsive representation to their constituents.

“It is the beauty of democracy. When the people believe in your capacity, they will give you their votes.

“I look forward to working with them and their colleagues in the Rivers State House of Assembly for the progress of our state,” Fubara said.

PulseNets reported that the governor also commended voters in Ahoada East and Khana constituencies for maintaining peace throughout the electoral process.
