INC Crisis: Diri Inaugurates 6-Man Reconciliation Committee to Restore Unity

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has inaugurated a six-member reconciliation committee for the Ijaw National Congress as efforts intensify to address internal disputes and strengthen unity within the apex Ijaw socio-cultural body.

The inauguration ceremony, which held at Government House in Yenagoa, saw Governor Diri task the committee with reconciling aggrieved individuals and conflicting interests within the INC while restoring the vision and principles of the organisation’s founding fathers.

The governor further urged the committee to provide recommendations that would be fair, inclusive, and capable of deepening unity across the Ijaw nation rather than encouraging divisions.

His words: “The strength of the Ijaw Nation is not in the loudness of our disputes, but in our unity.”
