2023 presidency: Peter Obi gets nomination form

Ahead of the 2023 presidential elections, former Anambra State governor, Mr. Peter Obi has obtained the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, nomination form.

PulseNets reports that N40m nomination form was purchased for the presidential candidate on Thursday by a group which identified itself as Like Minds for Peter Obi.

PulseNets recall that the former governor had last week declared his intention to run for the office of the Nigerian President in the forthcoming general elections under the main opposition party, PDP.

Spokesman of the group, Ekene Nwakuche, who spoke to journalists shortly after the form was purchased, said though the members don’t participate in partisan politics, they rallied behind Peter Obi based on his capacity.

He said, “We don’t belong to any political party. We are just a group of young Nigeria professionals that feel that the way the country is going, the country is not going in the right direction and we need someone, a seasoned technocrat that can steer the affairs of the country in the right direction, and cut down the cost of governance.

“We think Peter Obi can steer it forward and we believe in him because we have seen what he did in Anambra when he was a governor. And we have heard him talk; he has the wealth of experience to lead Nigeria to the promised land”.
