ADC Alleges Hidden FBI Files After Trump Labels Nigeria a “Disgraceful Country”

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has offered reasons it believes prompted U.S. President Donald Trump to describe Nigeria as a “disgraceful country.”

In a statement issued on Saturday, Trump had warned that the United States would “immediately stop all aid and assistance to Nigeria and may very well go into that now disgraced country” if the Nigerian government failed to address the alleged genocide against Christians. The U.S. leader added that America would not remain silent while terrorists continued to carry out religious persecution in Africa’s most populous nation.

PulseNets learnt that the ADC, in response to Trump’s remarks, took to the official X handle of its coalition mobilisation arm, ADC Vanguard, to make a striking revelation about the statement’s underlying meaning.

According to the party, Trump’s words were not made in isolation but stemmed from intelligence and background information about Nigeria’s leadership. The ADC alleged that the U.S. president’s position was linked to certain “files buried” with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) concerning the “man in charge” of the country.

A statement obtained by PulseNets from the party’s X page reads:

“Trump’s ‘disgraceful country’ remark didn’t come from nowhere. He knows the man in charge has a past buried in FBI files. Nigeria is paying the price of shame. Only ADC can restore our dignity.”

The party told PulseNets that Nigerians are now “paying the price of shame” due to the actions and failures of bad leaders who have tarnished the country’s global image. The ADC further emphasised that restoring Nigeria’s integrity and dignity would require honest leadership, transparency, and accountability — values it claims to uphold.

PulseNets reported that the party’s response has since sparked conversations across social media, with many Nigerians expressing mixed reactions to both Trump’s statement and the opposition party’s claims.
