Carter Efe’s Twitch Account Suspended Weeks After Record-Breaking Davido Livestream
Nigerian comedian and digital content creator Carter Efe is currently facing a temporary suspension on Twitch, coming just days after a record-breaking livestream that featured Afrobeats megastar Davido and drew massive global attention.
PulseNets learnt that the now-viral broadcast, which aired on December 17, 2025, pushed Carter Efe to the summit of Africa’s Twitch ecosystem. The livestream attracted unprecedented viewership, earned him over 405,000 new followers, and crowned him the most-followed African streamer on the platform.
Speaking publicly on Monday, the entertainer disclosed that Twitch had slammed a four-month suspension on his account. According to information obtained by PulseNets, the platform cited alleged violations of its Terms of Service and Community Guidelines as the basis for the decision.
However, Twitch has yet to clearly outline the exact infractions that led to the disciplinary action, leaving both the streamer and his fan base in the dark.
The development comes shortly after Carter Efe surpassed several established Nigerian streamers, including Shank Comics, while also delivering what many have described as one of Twitch’s most-watched African livestreams, thanks to his high-profile collaboration with Davido.
Following the announcement, supporters took to his social media pages in droves, praising his impact and urging Twitch to reconsider its stance. Many fans described him as a “pure source of joy and positive energy”, while others appealed directly to the platform to “review the suspension and restore his account.”
PulseNets reported that online conversations have increasingly pointed to the possibility of mass reporting, allegedly linked to comments or on-stream behaviour during the Davido livestream, as a potential trigger for the ban.

Meanwhile, rumours suggesting that Carter Efe had also been banned from other social media platforms were later dismissed, with checks confirming that his presence elsewhere online remains intact.
The unfolding situation has dampened the mood for many followers, particularly as it coincides with the festive season. Fans told PulseNets they remain hopeful that the matter will be resolved swiftly and in his favour, allowing the comedian to return to streaming sooner than expected.
