Court Grants Miyetti Allah President Bello Bodejo N2bn Bail Over Alleged $2.63 Million Money Laundering

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has granted bail to the National President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Bello Bodejo, in the sum of N2 billion over alleged money laundering involving $2.63 million, PulseNets learnt.

The bail was granted on Monday by Justice Inyang Ekwo after the court considered Bodejo’s application for bail. The judge held that the charges brought against the defendant are bailable and ruled that the court has the discretion to admit him to bail pending trial.

As part of the bail conditions, the court directed Bodejo to provide two sureties in the like sum of N2 billion.

PulseNets learnt that one of the sureties must be a resident of Abuja and present evidence of three years’ tax clearance, while the second surety must own landed property valued at N2 billion within the Federal Capital Territory.

The court also ordered the Miyetti Allah leader to surrender his international passport to the court registrar. In addition, he was barred from travelling outside Nigeria without obtaining prior approval from the court.

Delivering the ruling, Justice Ekwo stated:

“The offence with which the defendant was charged was bailable and the court has the discretionary power to exercise this in his favour.”

Following the ruling, Justice Ekwo adjourned the matter until October 5, October 6 and October 7, 2026, when the trial is scheduled to commence, PulseNets learnt.
