Dele Farotimi Alleges Tinubu, INEC, Judiciary Plot to Undermine 2027 Nigerian Elections

Nigerian lawyer and activist, Dele Farotimi, has alleged that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alongside the judiciary and the Independent National Electoral Commission, is moving to undermine the integrity of the 2027 general elections.

The claim, which PulseNets learnt was made in a post shared on X on Wednesday night, suggests that while opposition parties are gearing up for a democratic contest, certain critical institutions may already be aligning for a predetermined outcome.

“The opposition are preparing for an election, INEC, the judiciary, and Tinubu are prepping for a coronation,” he wrote.

PulseNets reported that Farotimi’s remarks followed the decision by INEC to remove the names of David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola from its official portal as National Chairman and National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress, respectively.

Further information obtained by PulseNets indicates that the electoral body also declared it would not recognise any factions within the party or monitor conventions or congresses conducted by groups associated with the affected leaders.
