PulseNets learned on Friday that the WhatsApp number of the Minister of Education, Professor Tahir Mamman, has been compromised. This was reported by his office, following a statement issued by the Director of Press and Public Relations in the Ministry, Boriowo Folasade.
According to the information PulseNets obtained, unauthorized individuals are currently using the Minister’s number. It was further disclosed that Professor Mamman has already reported the matter to the relevant authorities.
The statement urged the public to remain cautious and report any suspicious activities linked to the hacked number.
In the official statement, the ministry noted: “The Office of the Honourable Minister of Education, Professor Tahir Mamman, wishes to inform the general public that the Minister’s WhatsApp number has been hacked and is currently being used by unauthorised individuals.
“We deeply regret any inconvenience this may cause and urge everyone to disregard any message or request received from the said number until further notice.

“The matter has been reported to the relevant authorities and is under investigation. We advise all members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.”
Speaking to PulseNets, sources confirmed that the Ministry is actively working to address the issue, while cautioning the public to avoid engaging with any messages from the compromised number.
