Fubara Denies Sidelining Rivers Lawmakers, Says Visit to Tinubu Was Strictly State Business
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara has pushed back against circulating accusations that he is sidelining members of the State House of Assembly or allies of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
The clarification came during the commissioning of the Ahoda–Omoku Road extension in Ahoada West, where the governor faulted narratives suggesting he had shut out certain political stakeholders. According to details PulseNets learnt, the governor described the claims as politically motivated and entirely unfounded.
Addressing the crowd, Fubara explained that his recent visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had nothing to do with political disputes.
He stressed, “I went to see the President purely for state interest. There is no disagreement between me and members of the National Assembly, and none with our state lawmakers.”
Fubara revealed that he had already made several attempts to meet with the lawmakers involved, but was still waiting for party leaders to honour the reconciliation process earlier agreed upon. He noted that the responsibility for convening the meeting was placed in the hands of the minister.
“It was agreed that the minister, our leader, would arrange the meeting. Up till now, it has not been fixed,” he stated.
He further dismissed suggestions that he had refused to engage the lawmakers, saying such accusations contradicted both his intentions and his actions.

The governor maintained that he had no reason to exclude any stakeholder from the governance process and that unity remained a central priority of his administration.
