Grammy Loss: Cubana Chief Priest Claims Davido Is Being Frustrated for Refusing to Compromise His Beliefs
Popular socialite and nightlife entrepreneur Pascal Okechukwu, better known as Cubana Chief Priest, has alleged that Davido’s loss at the Grammy Awards was linked to his refusal to submit to what he described as “demonic” demands.
PulseNets learnt that Cubana Chief Priest made the claim while reacting to Davido’s failure to secure the Best African Music Performance award at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
According to him, the Afrobeats star is allegedly being frustrated by powerful Western music figures because he has refused to compromise his personal beliefs and values.
PulseNets reported that the Grammy ceremony was held on Sunday, where South African singer Tyla emerged as the winner of the category, despite Davido being widely regarded as one of the strongest contenders.
Reacting to the outcome, Cubana Chief Priest suggested that Davido’s global influence and dominance in the music industry had made him a target.
He insisted that the singer’s refusal to align with certain expectations had resulted in deliberate attempts to weaken his momentum on the international stage.
PulseNets obtained that Cubana Chief Priest urged Davido not to be discouraged by the setback, advising him to remain focused and continue producing music for his fans worldwide.
He further noted that temporary disappointments should not define the career of an artist of Davido’s stature, stressing that greater achievements still lie ahead.
Sharing his thoughts via social media, Cubana Chief Priest openly accused unnamed Western figures of attempting to pressure the singer into changing his lifestyle and principles.
He praised Davido for standing firm, adding that consistency and talent would always outweigh award snubs in the long run.
In his words, he wrote:
“They are trying everything to frustrate him because he refused to be part of things that go against his beliefs. Stay strong, my brother. Keep pushing, keep dropping hits. This journey is far from over, and the music will never stop.”
