Hollywood Icon Rob Reiner and Wife Michele Found Dead as LAPD Launches Homicide Investigation
Legendary Hollywood filmmaker and actor Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Reiner, are dead, family sources confirmed in a short statement describing the development as devastating and deeply painful.
PulseNets learnt that operatives of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) have deployed homicide detectives to the couple’s residence, as authorities investigate the deaths under circumstances being treated as an apparent homicide.
A law enforcement source, who spoke to PulseNets on condition of anonymity, confirmed that investigators questioned a family member late Sunday as part of the ongoing probe.
Rob Reiner, aged 78, was widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in American film and television history. Over several decades, he directed a string of critically acclaimed classics, including When Harry Met Sally, The Princess Bride, and A Few Good Men.
He first gained national recognition for his role as Archie Bunker’s son-in-law on the iconic television series All in the Family, a performance that helped launch his enduring Hollywood career.
Reacting to the news, the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) paid glowing tribute to Reiner, describing him as “a towering force whose work helped define generations of film and television.”
Union president Sean Astin, in a statement obtained by PulseNets, noted Reiner’s nearly 60-year membership in the guild, adding that “his films consistently challenged, entertained, and moved audiences, leaving an indelible mark on American culture.”
Michele Singer Reiner, 67, was also a respected creative force in her own right, with an accomplished career spanning producing, acting, and photography.
PulseNets reported that she worked closely with her husband on several projects, including Shock and Awe and Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, which premiered earlier this year.
As an actress, she appeared in Nora Ephron’s Mixed Nuts and contributed as a photographer on major productions such as Misery.
