Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have taken into custody the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero.
According to PulseNets, the arrest occurred earlier today at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. Ajaero was reportedly preparing to board a flight bound for the United Kingdom when DSS personnel apprehended him. Sources close to the situation told PulseNets that Ajaero was en route for an official engagement in the UK.
The specific reasons for Ajaero’s arrest remain undisclosed. However, PulseNets learned that he has since been handed over to the National Intelligence Agency (NIA).

It was reported to PulseNets that Ajaero had been scheduled to attend the Trade Union Congress (TUC) conference, taking place today in the UK.
