In a condolence message posted on his official Facebook page on Friday, Jonathan said he received news of Ewhrudjakpo’s demise with “profound shock and heartfelt sadness,” noting that the late deputy governor devoted his life to public service and the wellbeing of the people.
Jonathan, who spoke to PulseNets through the message, described Ewhrudjakpo as a committed servant of Bayelsa State, a true patriot and a dependable representative of both state and nation, whose years of service attracted respect across political and civic spaces.
He noted that Ewhrudjakpo left a strong mark in every role entrusted to him, having served diligently as a commissioner, senator and later as deputy governor, where he continued to demonstrate uncommon dedication.
According to information obtained by PulseNets, the former president said the passing of the deputy governor is a major setback not only for the Government and people of Bayelsa State, but also for his family, colleagues and associates who worked closely with him.
