Many Confirmed Dead as Gunmen Rob Banks in Benue

There is tension in Otukpo, Benue State, as an unconfirmed number of residents have reportedly been killed by suspected armed robbers.

PulseNets reports that the incident took place at about 3 p.m. on Friday.

Eyewitness reports have it that the gunmen invaded several banks, shooting sporadically.

One eyewitness, Sunday Abah, said the gunmen operated for several hours without security intervention.

“Armed robbers have taken over everywhere in Otukpo. They are just shooting whoever they see.
