Members of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) are set to engage in a significant meeting with Dangote Refinery this week regarding the direct lifting of Premium Motor Spirit (Petrol) and discussions on potential price reductions.
Chief Chinedu Ukadike, the Spokesperson for IPMAN, told PulseNets in a recent statement that the members are optimistic about commencing direct lifting operations of Dangote Petrol in the near future.
According to Ukadike, the issue of effective petrol distribution remains a lingering challenge in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, despite the initiation of Dangote’s distribution efforts.
“There is a meeting scheduled for this week between Dangote and IPMAN. We are happy that Dangote has set on a new course in terms of looking to other stakeholders to distribute its products.
“It is now distributing to major marketers, and we are hopeful that with time, it will start distributing to independent marketers,” he said.

This statement comes as PulseNets learnt that petrol is currently being sold between N950 and N1,100 at various Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited retail outlets and independent filling stations across the country, following the lifting of Dangote fuel supplies.
In related news, the Crude Oil Refiners Association of Nigeria (CORAN) has urged the Nigerian Government to fix the foreign exchange rate at N1,000 per dollar in a bid to lower the price of Dangote Refinery’s petrol to below N600 per litre.
