Meta Launches Facebook Plus Subscription Globally at $3.99 Monthly, Introduces Premium Features for Users

Meta has officially introduced a new paid subscription service for Facebook users worldwide, marking one of the company’s most significant monetization moves in recent years.

Information obtained by PulseNets shows that the new service, known as Facebook Plus, became available globally on May 27, 2026, giving users access to a range of premium features designed to enhance engagement, content performance, and profile customization.

The subscription is priced at $3.99 per month, which is approximately ₦6,500 for users in Nigeria, depending on prevailing exchange rates.

According to details obtained by PulseNets, Facebook Plus subscribers will enjoy several exclusive benefits, including:

• Stories that remain visible for up to 48 hours instead of the standard 24-hour limit

• Advanced story insights and analytics

• Super reactions and enhanced engagement tools

• Expanded profile customization features

• Improved story performance and audience reach

PulseNets learnt that the launch forms part of Meta’s broader strategy to expand premium services across its social media ecosystem.

The development comes alongside the rollout of Instagram Plus, which carries a monthly subscription fee of $3.99, and WhatsApp Plus, available for $2.99 per month.

Industry observers say the move signals Meta’s increasing focus on subscription-based revenue streams as the company continues investing heavily in artificial intelligence and advanced digital products.

PulseNets further learned that Meta is preparing additional premium subscription packages under a new umbrella brand known as “Meta One,” which is expected to include enhanced AI-powered capabilities and exclusive user features.

Although Facebook’s core services will remain free for billions of users worldwide, the introduction of Facebook Plus provides content creators, businesses, influencers, and power users with the option of paying for expanded tools, deeper analytics, and improved audience engagement capabilities.

The launch is already generating widespread discussion across the technology industry, with many users viewing it as a notable shift from the long-held perception that Facebook would remain entirely free beyond its advertising-supported model.
