Ted Cruz Backs Trump’s Move, Unveils Bill to Target Enforcers of Blasphemy and Sharia Laws in Nigeria
United States Senator Ted Cruz has unveiled a fresh legislative move designed to counter the enforcement of blasphemy and sharia laws in Nigeria, PulseNets learnt.
The development follows former U.S. President Donald Trump’s designation of Nigeria as a country of particular concern over persistent violations of religious freedom — a decision widely hailed by human rights advocates across Washington.
Cruz, in a statement shared on X on Friday and obtained by PulseNets, expressed satisfaction with the move, noting that he had “long championed efforts to confront the persecution of Christians in Nigeria.”
