Umahi is officially the APC candidate for Ebonyi South, according to the Supreme Court

Senate Presidency: Umahi drops ambition, endorses Akpabio

The All Progressive Congress, APC’s legitimate candidate for the Ebonyi South Senatorial District election was recognised by the Supreme Court of Nigeria on Friday. Dave Umahi is the governor of the state of Ebonyi.

Princess Ann Agom-Eze, a disgruntled senatorial candidate, filed an appeal, which the five-person panel, led by Justice Kudirat Ekekere-Ekun, dismissed unanimously.

The panel determined that the appeal had no merit and should be rejected.

Remember that Agom-Eze had pleaded with the court to overturn the concurrent rulings of the Federal High Court and the Court of Appeal in Abuja, which affirmed the results of the primary election that resulted in Governor Umahi.

The appellant went to court to request a restraining order because she was unhappy with the party’s decision to hold a new primary election.

Both the High Court and the appellate court dismissed the case after concluding that there was no justification for overturning the results of the second primary election.
