US: Trump moves Presidential Inauguration Indoors, Gives Reason

The United States President-elect, Donald Trump, is set to hold his inauguration inside the US Capitol on Monday, PulseNets has learnt.

Trump explained that the ceremony was moved indoors due to the harsh winter weather conditions affecting the country. This decision marks a historic moment, as it will be the first time in 40 years that US presidential inaugural ceremonies take place indoors. The last time this occurred was in 1985, when former Republican President Ronald Reagan’s second swearing-in was held indoors due to similarly severe cold weather.

Posting on his Truth Social media handle, Trump stated: “There is an Arctic blast sweeping the country. I don’t want to see people hurt or injured in any way.

“Therefore, I have ordered the Inauguration Address, in addition to prayers and other speeches, to be delivered in the United States Capitol Rotunda.”

PulseNets reported that the incoming President also informed his supporters of alternative arrangements for viewing the event. He told PulseNets that supporters could watch the inauguration live on screens set up inside the Capital One Arena.

Additionally, Trump confirmed that the traditional presidential parade, which was initially planned to feature marching bands and other groups proceeding down Pennsylvania Avenue to the White House, would also be relocated to the Capital One Arena.

Trump defeated Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris in the November 2024 presidential election, securing the highest number of electoral college votes, PulseNets reported.
