65-Year-Old Man Detained After Woman’s Death at His Residence in Ogun State
The Ogun State Police Command has detained a 65-year-old man, Olalekan Ogunjobi, in connection with the death of Serifatu Disu, a 60-year-old woman, at his residence in Fatima Castle, Konigba, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State.
Incident Details
PulseNets learned that Serifatu Disu left her husband’s home late at night to visit Ogunjobi. Around 12:40 a.m. on Wednesday, she reportedly complained of chest pain before stepping outside the room. Moments later, she collapsed and lost consciousness.
Despite Ogunjobi’s attempts to provide first aid, Disu sadly did not survive.
Chief Superintendent of Police Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, confirmed the incident and told PulseNets:
“OLALEKAN OGUNJOBI, A 65-YEAR-OLD RESIDENT OF FATIMA CASTLE, KONIGBA, AGO-IWOYE, REPORTED THAT SERIFATU DISU, A 60-YEAR-OLD WOMAN AND A FRIEND, VISITED HIS RESIDENCE LATE AT NIGHT. SHE COMPLAINED OF CHEST PAIN AROUND 12:40 A.M. AND COLLAPSED SHORTLY AFTER STEPPING OUTSIDE. DESPITE EFFORTS TO REVIVE HER, SHE PASSED AWAY.”
Police Investigation
PulseNets reported that the Divisional Police Officer in Ago-Iwoye promptly arrived at the scene following Ogunjobi’s report. Ogunjobi was detained for questioning, and the deceased’s body was transferred to the Ijebu-Ode General Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
Odutola further spoke to PulseNets, stating:
“We have visited the scene, and the body has been taken to the General Hospital in Ijebu Ode, where it will be moved to the mortuary for an autopsy.”

Similar Case Highlighted
This tragic incident comes on the heels of a similar case earlier in December, where a 22-year-old man, Joseph Prince, was arrested after his girlfriend, Agala Peace, died under unclear circumstances in Ota, Ogun State. Peace reportedly died while being rushed to the hospital.
The Ogun State Police Command told PulseNets that a comprehensive investigation into Serifatu Disu’s death is underway, with updates expected as new details emerge.
