“Write Your Wills Before Trying to Rig Abia 2027 Election”, Alex Otti Warns Political Opponents
Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has issued a stern warning to political actors allegedly plotting to manipulate the outcome of the 2027 governorship election in the state.
Speaking on Thursday at the Government House, Umuahia, during the October edition of Alex Otti Speaks to Abians, the governor sent a blunt message to those nursing plans to rig the polls, cautioning them to “write their wills first.”
PulseNets learnt that Governor Otti’s remarks followed statements credited to the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, who reportedly boasted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would take control of Abia State in 2027.
While acknowledging Kalu’s constitutional right to contest, Otti maintained that elections must be conducted under a free, fair, and transparent process.
In his words, “I’ve heard some people boldly claim they’ll take over this state and manipulate results. My advice to them is very clear — before they attempt to write any results, they should first write their wills. That’s entirely their decision.”
Sources obtained by PulseNets said the governor, who described Benjamin Kalu as a friend and younger brother, disclosed that he had long forgiven him for previous criticisms directed at his administration. He, however, urged all political leaders in Abia to embrace peace and political maturity ahead of the coming elections.
Governor Otti also reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty to the Labour Party, stressing that he has no plans whatsoever to defect to the APC or any other political platform.

He stated, “I remain fully committed to the ideals of the Labour Party. We came in through the people’s mandate, and we’ll continue to serve them through integrity, not manipulation.”
Political observers who spoke to PulseNets noted that Otti’s comments may set the tone for a heated political atmosphere as the 2027 race draws nearer.
