In the approved 2024 budget, the Ministry of Defence secured the highest allocation of N1.3 trillion. This development follows the passing of an augmented appropriation bill by both chambers of the National Assembly, reflecting an increase of N1.2 trillion over the budget initially submitted by President Bola Tinubu.
Abubakar Bichi, Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, addressed reporters at the conclusion of a special session on Saturday, attributing the additional funds to inflation and assurances from Government Owned Enterprises (GOEs) to enhance their revenue streams.
