Breaking: President Buhari grants 65 Ex-corps Members Automatic Employment

Buhari makes fresh appointment hours to exit as president

President Muhammadu Buhari has offered automatic employment in the Federal Civil Service to 65 former members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
PulseNets reports that the announcement was made during the NYSC 50th Anniversary Honours Award ceremony at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja.

In addition to the employment opportunity, President Buhari also unveiled another support by granting scholarships to the ex-Corps members, enabling them to pursue their education up to the Doctorate Degree level at any university of their choice within the country.

To recognise their outstanding achievements, the President bestowed a cash prize of N250,000 upon each of the top award winners, while N200,000 was awarded to other deserving recipients. This included physically challenged ex-Corps members who were honoured under the NYSC Hope Alive Programme.

Consequently, President Buhari has issued a directive to key authorities, including the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, the Federal Civil Service Commission, and the Minister of Education, urging them to ensure the implementation of the employment offer and the provision of scholarships.

The development was announced by Femi Adesina, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, in a statement released late Thursday.

The statement, titled “President Buhari grants 65 ex-corps members automatic employment, lists achievements of NYSC at 50,” highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting the youth and recognising their contributions to national development.

Out of the 65 recipients, 52 individuals were honoured with the prestigious Presidential Honours Awards, while the remaining 13 ex-Corps members, who faced physical challenges, were recognized under the NYSC Hope Alive programme.
