On the second day of the ‘End Bad Governance’ protests, demonstrators in Port Harcourt intensified their actions by storming the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) office.
The protesters are demanding the immediate removal of President Bola Tinubu and Senate President Godswill Akpabio from office, citing their dissatisfaction with the current administration’s handling of economic issues and governance.
Despite heavy rainfall, the protesters remained resolute, highlighting the urgency of their demands for better governance and economic reforms.
The protests have been marked by peaceful demonstrations, although incidents of extortion and harassment have been condemned by the Rivers State Commissioner of Police.
The nationwide protests, which began on August 1, 2024, have seen widespread participation across Nigeria.
