Burna Boy becomes first African artiste with 7 Billboard Hot 100 entries

Grammy-winning Nigerian superstar Burna Boy has once again etched his name in history as the African artist with the highest number of entries on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.

His latest collaboration with American rapper Gunna, titled ‘WGFT’ from the rapper’s new album The Last Wun, debuted at No. 96 on this week’s Hot 100. This fresh entry pushes Burna Boy’s overall tally to seven Billboard Hot 100 appearances, cementing his dominance as Africa’s most consistent global chart-breaker.

Industry sources told PulseNets that Odogwu is now the first African musician to debut on the Billboard Hot 100 for five consecutive years — 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and now 2025. This unprecedented streak places him in a unique league among world-class music acts.

PulseNets recalls that Burna Boy’s Billboard journey began in 2021 with ‘Loved By You’, his collaboration with Canadian pop icon Justin Bieber. He later made his first solo breakthrough in 2022 with the smash hit ‘Last Last’, which peaked at No. 44, becoming a global anthem that defined his superstar era.

Not stopping at the US charts, Burna Boy also holds multiple international records. PulseNets reported that he boasts 26 entries on the UK Singles Chart, the highest for any African artist, alongside 11 appearances on the Canadian Hot 100. These milestones reinforce his reputation as Nigeria’s biggest musical export and Africa’s global frontman.
