2027: Goodluck Jonathan Ambition Unsettles Tinubu Camp

“We were misled in 2015”, Group Begs Jonathan to Join 2027 Presidential Race

A pro-Jonathan political pressure movement, Bring Back Our Goodluck, has officially urged former President Goodluck Jonathan to contest the 2027 presidential election, PulseNets learnt.

The group argued that Nigerians were “misled in 2015” into voting out Jonathan’s administration and have since been subjected to untold hardship under the All Progressives Congress (APC) government.

Speaking at a press conference in Kano on Sunday, Grema Kyari, the national coordinator of the campaign, told PulseNets that Jonathan remained the “surest path to rescue Nigeria” from worsening insecurity, hunger, and economic collapse.

According to Kyari, Jonathan’s comeback is not just desirable but absolutely necessary for Nigeria’s future. He pointed to the political returns of Donald Trump in the United States and John Mahama in Ghana as international precedents.

“In 2015, Nigerians were deceived by the APC under Muhammadu Buhari, Bola Tinubu, Yemi Osinbajo, and Bisi Akande. They promised change but delivered only hunger, poverty, and hopelessness.” – Grema Kyari

Kyari emphasised that Jonathan presided over Nigeria’s “last period of true economic stability.” He highlighted food affordability, agricultural reforms, and youth empowerment schemes such as YouWin! and SURE-P as evidence of Jonathan’s people-centered leadership.

“Under Jonathan, a bag of rice cost just N7,800. Today, the same bag sells for as high as N100,000. That single contrast explains Nigeria’s painful decline.” – Kyari told PulseNets

He added that Jonathan’s inclusive leadership, reflected in his ability to appoint Nigerians across all ethnic and religious lines, made him the ideal candidate to heal national divisions.

The coordinator also urged other opposition figures to put Nigeria first.

“Atiku Abubakar, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Peter Obi, Rotimi Amaechi, and Nasir El-Rufai must set aside personal ambitions and rally behind Goodluck Jonathan. This is bigger than politics—it is about saving Nigeria.”

Kyari described the 2027 general elections as a defining moment for Nigeria’s democracy.

“2027 will not be an ordinary election—it is a rescue mission to halt the APC’s destruction of our democracy and economy.”

PulseNets obtained that the movement, which began in Nigeria’s north-east, has now expanded to the north-west, a region Kyari called “the heartbeat of commerce and political influence in northern Nigeria.”

He rounded off the press briefing with an emotional appeal directed at Jonathan.

“In 2015, you chose peace over power. In 2027, Nigeria needs you to choose the people again. Let us chase out bad luck, hunger, and poverty. Let us bring back our Goodluck.” – Kyari
