BREAKING: Dangote Truck Accident Kills Over 8, Injures Dozens in Asaba

Asaba – Another tragic road accident involving a truck owned by the Dangote Group, which claimed the lives of more than eight people and left dozens battling for survival in Asaba on Monday.

Eyewitnesses who spoke to PulseNets said the heavy-duty Dangote truck, reportedly overloaded, lost control around the ever-busy Onitsha Toll Gate axis before ramming into multiple vehicles and unsuspecting pedestrians. The violent impact triggered pandemonium, leaving several victims pinned under mangled wreckage as horrified onlookers watched helplessly.

Emergency responders and concerned residents rushed to the scene to pull survivors from the debris. PulseNets learnt that the injured victims were immediately taken to nearby hospitals in Asaba for urgent medical care. A senior official of the Delta State Police Command told PulseNets, “We can confirm the unfortunate crash involving a Dangote truck. Investigations are ongoing to determine the actual cause.”

The development has sparked fresh outrage among residents who expressed frustration over what they described as the “recurring menace of Dangote trucks on Nigerian roads.” A trader near the scene told PulseNets, “This is not the first time. Barely weeks ago, another Dangote truck killed people in Edo State. How many more must die before action is taken?”

As of press time, PulseNets obtained that the Dangote Group has not yet released an official statement regarding the latest tragedy.

Authorities, however, have urged caution. A road safety source who spoke to PulseNets warned, “Drivers of articulated vehicles must exercise discipline and patience. Regulators should equally tighten control to prevent needless loss of lives.”
