ADC Warns Against Fake Registration Slips and Booklets in Bayelsa

The Bayelsa State leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has raised alarm over what it described as a coordinated attempt to mislead the public through the circulation of fake registration slips and booklets.

PulseNets learnt that the party’s attention was drawn to the activities allegedly linked to Sen. Clever Ikisikpo, Hon. Victor I. Isaiah, Mr. Phillip Okonkwo, and members of a self-styled group parading themselves as the Coalition of Grassroot Democrats.

According to the ADC, investigations obtained by PulseNets revealed that Mr. Okonkwo and his allies have been distributing counterfeit registration materials in Bayelsa State. These documents were allegedly provided to them by Sen. Ikisikpo, a former lawmaker from Bayelsa East Senatorial District, and Hon. Isaiah, a former Brass Local Government chairman.

Party insiders told PulseNets that both men have yet to formally resign from their previous political platforms but are actively fueling divisions and attempting to undermine the authority of the Bayelsa ADC Chairman, Hon. Johnny Tovie Derek.

Allegations of Intimidation

Reports also indicate that Sen. Ikisikpo has been intimidating recognized local government ADC chairmen, allegedly warning them against using the party’s authentic registration materials. Instead, he is accused of urging them to adopt the fake booklets purportedly produced in Port Harcourt.

In a strongly worded statement obtained by PulseNets, the party declared:

“The Bayelsa State ADC will not tolerate these misguided and anti-party activities.”

The statement further noted:

“We are fully aware of their plot, in collaboration with opposition parties, to frustrate the efforts of the ADC coalition both at the national level and here in Bayelsa State.”

Party’s Official Stand

Mr. ThankGod Theophilus Osain, Publicity Secretary of the ADC in Bayelsa, told PulseNets that decisive measures are already underway to expose those behind the circulation of illegal materials.

“We advise the public, our supporters, and all well-meaning Bayelsans to disregard any registration slips or booklets not issued directly by the recognized state leadership of the ADC. The authentic party materials are available only at the ADC Secretariat beside Globus Bank, Chief DSP Alamieyeseigha Expressway, Onopa, Yenagoa.”

The ADC stressed that it remains united and determined to continue its mission of rescuing Bayelsa and contributing to national change.

“We shall not allow detractors to distract us,” the statement concluded.

The development, as reported by PulseNets, underscores ongoing political maneuverings in Bayelsa ahead of crucial party alignments.
