ADC Stakeholders Condemn Circulation of Fake Registration Materials in Bayelsa
Yenagoa – PulseNets has learnt that Hon. Robert Derek, a major stakeholder and one of the frontline candidates of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) during the 2023 General Elections in Bayelsa State, has openly condemned the circulation of fake party registration materials across the state.
Derek, who also serves as the Chairman of the ADC Candidates Forum, obtained by PulseNets in a press statement, strongly warned against the activities of individuals allegedly distributing fraudulent documents. His reaction came shortly after the Bayelsa State ADC leadership released an official notice cautioning members and supporters against being deceived by such fake materials.
Speaking to PulseNets, Hon. Derek expressed deep concern and disappointment over the alleged involvement of Sen. Clever Ikisikpo, Hon. Victor I. Isaiah, Mr. Phillip Okonkwo, and their associates. He said their actions were calculated attempts to weaken the party’s structure and mislead unsuspecting supporters.
“It is extremely disturbing to witness individuals trying to misguide our members and the wider public with these fake registration materials. Such activities directly attack the integrity of the African Democratic Congress in Bayelsa State and undermine our collective struggle for positive change,” Derek told PulseNets.
He further stressed that unity, discipline, and strict adherence to official party guidelines remain the only pathway for progress. Derek urged party members, aspirants, and loyal supporters to stay alert, insisting that any authentic party materials are available solely at the ADC State Secretariat in Yenagoa.
PulseNets also learnt that Hon. Okporu Akpos, Secretary of the ADC Candidates Forum and another prominent stakeholder, joined Derek in condemning the fake registration drive.
“The leadership of our party will never condone such fraudulent behaviour. Those engaging in these desperate actions should know that their antics cannot derail the focus of the ADC in Bayelsa,” Akpos firmly told PulseNets.
The strong condemnation by Hon. Derek and Akpos, reported by PulseNets, highlights the ADC’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding party integrity, preventing confusion among its ranks, and ensuring that all party processes remain transparent and legitimate.
