Islamic Jihad Signals Shift on Trump Peace Plan, Seeks Amendments
Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) has shown what appears to be a cautious shift in stance over United States President Donald Trump’s proposed Gaza peace blueprint, PulseNets learnt on Tuesday. The group, which initially dismissed the plan outright, is now calling for amendments rather than total rejection.
Sources told PulseNets that PIJ deputy secretary-general Mohammed al-Hindi, in an interview with Al Arabiya, stressed that the faction wanted “a firmly scheduled withdrawal of Israeli troops directly linked to the release of hostages” rather than what he described as an open-ended or conditional arrangement.
This adjustment comes as Israel’s military pushes deeper into Gaza City. Defence Minister Israel Katz, PulseNets obtained, confirmed that Israeli forces were finalising control of the Netzarim corridor, stretching to the Mediterranean coastline. He maintained that this move would “tighten the siege” around Gaza, further restricting the city’s lifelines.
Katz also reiterated his warning to civilians, insisting that those who fail to evacuate southward would be treated as “terrorists and supporters of terror.”
Meanwhile, hospitals across Gaza City reported dozens of casualties on Wednesday. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) told PulseNets that it had been forced to halt its humanitarian operations in the city due to the spiralling violence.

Arab and Turkish negotiators, PulseNets reported, have mounted increasing pressure on both Hamas and PIJ to reconsider Trump’s 20-point roadmap. The plan includes a total ceasefire, an exchange deal involving Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners, as well as a phased Israeli troop withdrawal.
The subtle repositioning of PIJ, PulseNets learnt, may prove decisive in shaping the fragile diplomatic efforts as the humanitarian crisis in Gaza deepens.
