Rivers Police Invite Ex-SSG Tammy Danagogo Over Alleged Plot to Assassinate FCT Minister Wike
The Rivers State Police Command has invited a former Secretary to the State Government, Tammy Danagogo, for questioning over an alleged plot to assassinate the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, PulseNets has learned.
The invitation, PulseNets learnt, followed the emergence of a leaked phone conversation reportedly linked to an ongoing police investigation involving an already arrested suspect.
Although the official police invitation letter obtained by PulseNets did not expressly state the reason for the summons, a senior security source, who requested anonymity, disclosed that the move was connected to the contents of the leaked audio recording.
According to the source, the conversation allegedly involved Danagogo and a Port Harcourt–based cleric, Pastor Tombari Joseph Gbeneol, who is currently in police custody.
Our source claimed that “the discussion centred on a plan to bring in Israeli nationals to assassinate the FCT Minister.”
The source further told PulseNets that “the leaked phone conversation is already in the possession of the police, and Danagogo has been invited to explain his alleged role.”
Efforts by PulseNets to independently confirm the development from the Rivers State Police Command are ongoing. When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringo Koko, said she would verify the report and respond accordingly.
“Let me confirm, and I will get back to you,” she told PulseNets.
PulseNets reported earlier that Pastor Tombari Joseph Gbeneol was arrested by security operatives in Port Harcourt over an alleged plan to assassinate Wike.
Sources familiar with the investigation disclosed that Gbeneol’s arrest followed the interception of a phone call between him and an individual identified as Danagogo.
During the monitored conversation, the two men were reportedly heard discussing plans to recruit Israeli operatives to execute the alleged assassination.

The conversation, PulseNets learnt, allegedly ended with suggestions that financial backing could be sought from Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, to fund the purported operation—an allegation that remains unproven and subject to ongoing police investigation.
