Breaking: 27-Year-Old Woman Collapses, Dies at Boyfriend’s Residence in Abuja

A 27-year-old woman, identified as Esther Akwaji, has reportedly slumped and died in circumstances that remain unclear, raising fresh concerns over a suspected case of foul play in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Information obtained by PulseNets indicates that Esther died while eating at her boyfriend’s residence in Dei-Dei, within the Bwari Area Council of the FCT.

It was learnt that the boyfriend allegedly fled shortly after the incident, with his identity yet to be officially established by authorities.

Sources spoke to PulseNets and disclosed that the deceased, a resident of Nasarawa State, had travelled to Abuja to visit family members.

On January 21, Esther reportedly left her family home, telling relatives she was heading to a bank in Dei-Dei. She, however, never returned home.

Several hours later, family members were said to have received a distressing phone call from a man who introduced himself as Esther’s boyfriend, reportedly calling with her mobile phone.

According to details reported to PulseNets, the man told the family that Esther had come to see him and that he had bought food for them to eat together.

The boyfriend allegedly claimed that during the meal, Esther suddenly started vomiting, prompting him to rush her to Kubwa General Hospital.

He reportedly told the family that doctors at the hospital confirmed that Esther was dead on arrival.

However, sources further told PulseNets that the man disappeared shortly after medical personnel pronounced her dead and has remained unreachable since then.

Confirming the incident, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, said the Command had launched a comprehensive investigation into the matter.

“The corpse has been deposited for autopsy to determine the actual cause of death, while efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspect,” Adeh stated.
