ADC Releases Video Showing Nafiu Bala at David Mark’s Unveiling Amid Leadership Crisis

The leadership crisis rocking the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has taken a fresh twist following the emergence of a video showing Nafiu Bala at a key party function months earlier.

The footage, which surfaced on Monday and was obtained by PulseNets, captures Nafiu Bala present at the formal unveiling of David Mark as the interim national chairman of the ADC.

The event, PulseNets learnt, was held in July 2025 at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja.

In the video, Bala is clearly seen seated calmly among high-ranking party stakeholders. He appeared alongside other notable figures, including Ishaku Abbo.

PulseNets reported that officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were also in attendance, lending the gathering an official and institutional presence.

The video has since gained traction across political circles and social platforms. It was shared with a caption that reads: “ADC releases video where Nafiu Bala was sighted at David Mark leadership unveiling after he tendered his resignation. The INEC representatives were also present at the event.”

This latest development carries significant weight. It comes amid Nafiu Bala’s ongoing claim to the position of national chairman of the ADC, a move that has deepened internal divisions within the party in recent weeks.

Earlier developments indicated that Bala had stepped down from his role as Deputy National Chairman (North-East). An alleged resignation letter dated May 18, 2025, which was obtained by PulseNets, had circulated widely.

In the document, he reportedly stepped aside to facilitate coalition negotiations and internal restructuring within the party.

However, the emergence of this video introduces new complexity to the situation. PulseNets learnt that Bala’s presence at the July leadership unveiling has sparked renewed debate, with observers questioning whether his resignation was definitive, strategic, or subsequently reversed.

The crisis has been further escalated by recent actions from the Independent National Electoral Commission. PulseNets reported that the electoral body delisted David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola from the ADC leadership register, following a court directive mandating a reversion to the party’s pre-July 2025 leadership framework.
