ADC Dissolves Transition, MRMR Committees in Bayelsa, Warns Against Illegal Structures

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Bayelsa State has announced the immediate dissolution and total de-recognition of the Transition/Leadership Committee and the MRMR Committee operating within the state, citing constitutional breaches and unauthorized activities.

The decision, which was communicated in an official statement signed by the State Chairman, Hon. Johnny Tovie Derek, and State Secretary, Comrade Victor Eritei, follows what party leadership described as a thorough internal review backed by credible reports and verifiable evidence.

According to findings obtained by PulseNets, the processes that led to the emergence of the affected committees were procedurally defective and failed to comply with the mandatory provisions of the party’s constitution, rendering them null and void from inception.

The statement further indicated that the committees had consistently acted outside the scope of lawful authority, engaging in unauthorized activities while presenting themselves as representatives of the party. PulseNets learnt that these actions contributed to the rise of parallel and factional structures within the state chapter.

Party leadership warned that such developments have undermined the authority of duly recognized structures and posed a threat to unity, order, and cohesion within the ADC in Bayelsa State. It also noted that the situation had brought the party into disrepute and weakened public confidence in its internal governance.

As part of the resolution, the ADC declared that the Transition/Leadership Committee and the MRMR Committee have been dissolved across all levels, including state, local government, and ward structures. All activities, meetings, communications, and representations carried out in their names have been nullified.

The party also made it clear that the committees are no longer recognized and that any past or ongoing actions undertaken by them are invalid and carry no binding effect.

PulseNets reported that the leadership further warned that any individual or group that continues to operate under the guise of the dissolved committees will be deemed to be acting in violation of the party’s constitution and will face disciplinary actions, including suspension or expulsion.

Reaffirming its stance, the ADC leadership emphasized its commitment to upholding the supremacy of the party’s constitution, as well as maintaining discipline, unity, and lawful order within its ranks. Members were directed to comply strictly with the directive and align with recognized leadership structures.

The directive takes immediate effect and will remain in force unless reviewed by the appropriate constitutional authority of the party.
