Two WAEC Female Students, Okada Rider Killed in Tragic Port Harcourt Road Accident After Examination
Two female students have lost their lives in a tragic road accident in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, while returning from their West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), PulseNets learnt.
The fatal crash occurred on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, along the Choba Bridge axis of the East-West Road, claiming the lives of the two students and a commercial motorcyclist.
Information obtained by PulseNets revealed that the victims were riding on a motorcycle when it collided with a moving truck.
Sources who witnessed the incident told PulseNets that the students had just concluded their WASSCE papers at Odoha Community Secondary School in Emohua Local Government Area before embarking on the journey home.
An eyewitness who spoke to PulseNets disclosed that the examination centre is approximately 30 minutes away from the accident scene.
“The students were coming back from Odoha Community Secondary School, Emohua LGA, after writing the WAEC exams,” the eyewitness said.
“It happened today. Three people died: one okada rider and two WAEC female students.”
Choba, where the accident occurred, is the host community of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT).

PulseNets further learnt that several other persons sustained varying degrees of injuries during the crash and were immediately rushed to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital for medical attention.
Meanwhile, officials of the Choba Divisional Police Headquarters have appealed to residents to remain calm as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident continue.
