Wizkid Sparks Fresh Rivalry With Burna Boy After ‘Save the Best for the Last’ Afronation Portugal Remark
Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Wizkid has reignited the long running supremacy debate with fellow music star Burna Boy after suggesting he was selected to close the Afronation Portugal concert because he is “the best.”
The comment came after Burna Boy’s supporters flooded social media with claims that the African Giant had been given the honour of headlining the opening day of the Afronation Portugal festival due to his global influence and star power ahead of Wizkid and other artistes on the lineup, PulseNets learnt.
Responding during his performance on Sunday, the Starboy boss appeared to address the ongoing conversation surrounding the festival’s performance schedule. Speaking to the crowd, Wizkid declared that he was billed to perform after Burna Boy and every other act because he was the festival’s biggest attraction.
“Big Wiz is here. This is why you save the best for the last, baby.”
The statement has since gone viral across social media platforms, with many fans interpreting it as a direct response to the growing debate over who deserved the top billing at Afronation Portugal, PulseNets reported.

The latest exchange adds another chapter to the widely followed rivalry between the two Grammy-winning Nigerian stars.
PulseNets recalls that Wizkid and Burna Boy’s relationship turned sour a few months ago after Burna Boy reportedly confronted Wizkid’s official disc jockey, DJ Tunez, at a nightclub in Lagos, further fuelling tensions between both camps.
