Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party has emerged victorious in the 2026 Osun State governorship election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declared Adeleke the winner after the Returning Officer for the election, Prof. Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole, announced the final results on Sunday morning.

Ogunwole, who is also the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State, declared that Adeleke secured 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who polled 444,815 votes.

Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, came third with 17,180 votes.

With the victory, Adeleke has secured the mandate of the people of Osun State for a second term in office.

PulseNets learnt that a total of 15 political parties contested the 2026 Osun State governorship election, although the major contest was largely between the Accord Party, APC and ADC.
